Our Story

Guches Ranch, founded in 1964 by Robert and Shirley Guches, has been a cherished cornerstone of the Applegate Valley in Jacksonville, Oregon. With a vision to create a lasting legacy for their family and to preserve the natural beauty of this remarkable region, the Guches family built a ranch that would stand the test of time. After Robert’s passing in 2002, Shirley continued the work they had started together, nurturing the ranch and its vision for over two decades. Her dedication ensured that the essence of the ranch remained intact until her passing in 2023.

Today, Guches Ranch is led by their grandson, Robert Thomas Preston, who continues the family legacy with a vision centered on thoughtful growth, elevated hospitality, and memorable guest experiences.

Under Robert’s direction, the ranch has evolved into a private Southern Oregon retreat where comfort, character, and the natural beauty of the Applegate Valley come together. Every new addition is designed to enhance the experience while preserving the history and spirit that have made Guches Ranch special for generations. The vision for the future is simple; continue refining, expanding, and creating new reasons for guests to return. Rooted in history. Designed for what comes next.

At Guches Ranch, the beauty of the past blends seamlessly with a future full of imagination. Every corner of the property is an invitation to dream, explore, and be a part of a living legacy, one that will continue to evolve with every new step forward.
